सरकार ने क्यों बढ़ाई इंपोर्ट ड्यूटी?
सरकार ने सोने पर 10% बेसिक कस्टम ड्यूटी और 5% एग्रीकल्चर इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर एंड डेवलपमेंट सेस (AIDC) लगाया है। सरकार का उद्देश्य विदेशी आयात कम करना और विदेशी मुद्रा भंडार पर दबाव घटाना है। अमेरिका-ईरान तनाव और बढ़ते व्यापार घाटे के बीच यह फैसला लिया गया है।
आम लोगों और बाजार पर क्या असर पड़ेगा?
ड्यूटी बढ़ने से सोना-चांदी की कीमतें और महंगी हो सकती हैं। इंडस्ट्री एक्सपर्ट्स का मानना है कि ऊंचे टैक्स की वजह से तस्करी बढ़ सकती है और बाजार में सप्लाई कम हो सकती है। इससे शादी और निवेश के लिए सोना खरीदने वाले लोगों पर सीधा असर पड़ेगा।
IGST नियम बदलने से बैंकों पर दबाव
सरकार के नए IGST नियमों के तहत अब बैंकों को सोना इंपोर्ट करते ही 3% टैक्स तुरंत जमा करना पड़ रहा है। इससे बैंकों की बड़ी रकम फंस रही है और कई बैंकों ने फिलहाल सोने का आयात रोक दिया है। अप्रैल में सोने का आयात पिछले कई दशकों में सबसे कम रहने का अनुमान है।
PM मोदी ने दो बार की अपील
प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने लगातार दो दिनों तक देशवासियों से एक साल तक सोना न खरीदने की अपील की। उन्होंने कहा कि विदेशी मुद्रा बचाना आज देशभक्ति की सबसे बड़ी जरूरत है और लोगों को देशहित में सोने की खरीद कम करनी चाहिए।

Prime Minister Narendra Modi appealed to citizens for two consecutive days not to buy gold for one year. He said saving foreign exchange is a matter of national interest and urged people to reduce gold purchases for the sake of the country’s economy.
