Jhansi Dowry Case : झांसी जिले में एक नवविवाहिता की संदिग्ध परिस्थितियों में मौत का मामला सामने आया है। मृतका के पिता ने आरोप लगाया है कि उनकी बेटी को दहेज के लिए प्रताड़ित किया जा रहा था और उसकी हत्या कर शव को फंदे से लटका दिया गया। घटना के बाद क्षेत्र में हड़कंप मच गया है और पुलिस ने पति समेत पांच लोगों के खिलाफ दहेज हत्या का मामला दर्ज कर जांच शुरू कर दी है।
15 महीने पहले हुई थी शादी, लगातार होती थी दहेज की मांग
मृतका प्रिया की शादी 14 फरवरी 2025 को समथर क्षेत्र निवासी भरत व्यास से हुई थी। पिता विनोद कुमार मिश्रा के अनुसार उन्होंने अपनी क्षमता से अधिक दहेज दिया था। इसके बावजूद शादी के बाद से ही ससुराल पक्ष अतिरिक्त पैसों की मांग करता रहा। परिजनों का आरोप है कि उन्होंने कई बार नकद रकम और ऑनलाइन भुगतान के माध्यम से लाखों रुपये दिए, लेकिन इसके बाद भी दहेज की मांग बंद नहीं हुई। हाल ही में फिर से 5 लाख रुपये की मांग की जा रही थी।
रात में हुई थी आखिरी बातचीत, सुबह मिली मौत की खबर
परिजनों के अनुसार रविवार रात करीब 11 बजे प्रिया की अपने पिता से फोन पर बातचीत हुई थी। उस समय वह सामान्य तरीके से बात कर रही थी। देर रात बेटी का फोन आया, लेकिन पिता गहरी नींद में होने के कारण कॉल रिसीव नहीं कर सके। सुबह जब उन्होंने बेटी को कॉल बैक किया तो फोन नहीं उठा। बाद में दामाद से संपर्क किया गया, जिसने कुछ समय बाद सूचना दी कि प्रिया ने कथित रूप से फांसी लगा ली है। यह खबर सुनकर परिवार स्तब्ध रह गया।
ससुराल पहुंचे तो घर खाली मिला, पिता ने उठाए सवाल
परिवार जब बेटी के ससुराल पहुंचा तो वहां पति समेत अधिकांश लोग फरार बताए गए। पिता का आरोप है कि कमरे में मिला दृश्य आत्महत्या की कहानी से मेल नहीं खाता था। उनका दावा है कि बेटी के पैर बिस्तर पर थे और शव ऐसी स्थिति में था जिससे हत्या के बाद फंदे पर लटकाए जाने की आशंका पैदा होती है। पुलिस और फोरेंसिक टीम ने मौके पर पहुंचकर जांच-पड़ताल की और शव को पोस्टमार्टम के लिए भेज दिया।
दहेज लोभियों पर कड़ी कार्रवाई की मांग
मृतका के पिता ने प्रशासन से आरोपियों के खिलाफ सख्त कार्रवाई की मांग की है। उनका कहना है कि दहेज के लालच में उनकी बेटी की जान चली गई और दोषियों को किसी भी कीमत पर बख्शा नहीं जाना चाहिए। पुलिस ने पति समेत पांच लोगों के खिलाफ दहेज हत्या का मुकदमा दर्ज कर लिया है। अधिकारियों का कहना है कि पोस्टमार्टम रिपोर्ट, फोरेंसिक जांच और अन्य साक्ष्यों के आधार पर आगे की कार्रवाई की जाएगी।
पुलिस जांच जारी, रिपोर्ट का इंतजार
फिलहाल पुलिस मामले की सभी पहलुओं से जांच कर रही है। मौत का वास्तविक कारण पोस्टमार्टम और फोरेंसिक रिपोर्ट आने के बाद ही स्पष्ट हो सकेगा। वहीं परिजन इसे हत्या का मामला बताते हुए न्याय की मांग कर रहे हैं। यह घटना एक बार फिर दहेज प्रथा और उससे जुड़ी सामाजिक समस्याओं पर गंभीर सवाल खड़े करती है।

Married 15 Months Ago, Allegedly Faced Continuous Dowry Harassment
The deceased, Priya, was married to Bharat Vyas, a resident of the Samthar area, on February 14, 2025. According to her father, Vinod Kumar Mishra, he had provided dowry beyond his financial capacity at the time of the marriage. Despite this, the victim’s in-laws allegedly continued demanding additional money. Family members claim that they paid several lakhs of rupees through cash and online transfers over time, but the demands did not stop. Recently, the in-laws were allegedly demanding another ₹5 lakh.
Last Conversation Took Place at Night, Death News Came in the Morning
According to the family, Priya spoke with her father over the phone around 11 PM on Sunday night and appeared completely normal during the conversation. Later that night, she reportedly called him again, but he was asleep and could not answer the call. The next morning, when he tried calling his daughter back, there was no response. He then contacted his son-in-law, who later informed him that Priya had allegedly died by suicide. The news left the family devastated.
Family Found the House Empty, Father Raised Serious Questions
When the family reached Priya’s in-laws’ house, they allegedly found that most family members, including her husband, were missing. The father questioned the suicide theory after seeing the scene. He claimed that Priya’s feet were resting on the bed and that the condition of the body raised suspicions that she may have been murdered and later hanged to stage a suicide. Police and forensic teams examined the scene and sent the body for post-mortem examination.
Family Demands Strict Action Against the Accused
The victim’s father has demanded strict action against those responsible. He alleged that his daughter lost her life due to dowry-related harassment and insisted that the accused should not be spared. Police have registered a dowry death case against the husband and four other relatives. Officials stated that further action will be taken based on the post-mortem report, forensic findings, and other evidence collected during the investigation.
Investigation Underway, Post-Mortem Report Awaited
Police are currently investigating all aspects of the case. The exact cause of death will become clear only after the post-mortem and forensic reports are received. Meanwhile, the victim’s family continues to claim that it was a case of murder and is demanding justice. The incident has once again raised serious concerns about the continuing problem of dowry-related harassment and deaths in society.
