मोदीनगर। गाजियाबाद के मोदीनगर क्षेत्र में गुरुवार देर रात एक कथित चाकू हमले की घटना सामने आई है। कदराबाद स्थित चस्का होटल के पास हुए इस हमले में सनी धीर गंभीर रूप से घायल हो गए। प्राथमिक उपचार के बाद चिकित्सकों ने उनकी गंभीर स्थिति को देखते हुए उन्हें दिल्ली एम्स (AIIMS) रेफर कर दिया। पुलिस ने मामले में नामजद आरोपी आशीष त्यागी को हिरासत में लेकर जांच शुरू कर दी है।
क्या है पूरा मामला?
जानकारी के अनुसार, यह घटना 3 जुलाई 2026 की रात लगभग 9:30 बजे कदराबाद स्थित चस्का होटल के पास हुई। आरोप है कि सनी धीर और आशीष त्यागी के बीच किसी बात को लेकर पहले कहासुनी हुई, जो बाद में हाथापाई में बदल गई।
बताया जा रहा है कि विवाद के बाद जब सनी धीर अपनी बाइक से घर लौट रहे थे, तभी पीछे से आए आशीष त्यागी ने कथित रूप से उन पर चाकू से हमला कर दिया। हमले में गंभीर रूप से घायल सनी धीर सड़क पर गिर पड़े।
पुरानी रंजिश बनी हमले की वजह?
घायल के परिजनों का आरोप है कि उनके बच्चों को आशीष त्यागी जूडो-कराटे का प्रशिक्षण देता था। करीब दो वर्ष पहले बच्चों की पिटाई को लेकर दोनों परिवारों के बीच विवाद हुआ था, जिसे उस समय शांत करा दिया गया था।
परिजनों का कहना है कि उसी पुराने विवाद की रंजिश के चलते यह हमला किया गया।
दिल्ली एम्स में चल रहा इलाज
घटना के बाद स्थानीय लोगों की सहायता से घायल सनी धीर को तुरंत अस्पताल पहुंचाया गया। डॉक्टरों ने उनकी गंभीर हालत को देखते हुए उन्हें दिल्ली एम्स रेफर कर दिया, जहां उनका इलाज जारी है। परिजनों के अनुसार उनकी स्थिति अभी भी चिंताजनक बनी हुई है।
पुलिस ने आरोपी को लिया हिरासत में
मोदीनगर एसीपी भास्कर वर्मा ने बताया कि मामले में मोदीनगर थाने में मुकदमा दर्ज कर लिया गया है। नामजद आरोपी आशीष त्यागी को हिरासत में लेकर पूछताछ की जा रही है।
उन्होंने कहा कि पुलिस सभी पहलुओं की जांच कर रही है और जांच के आधार पर आगे की वैधानिक कार्रवाई की जाएगी।
पुलिस जांच जारी
पुलिस आसपास लगे सीसीटीवी कैमरों, प्रत्यक्षदर्शियों के बयान और अन्य साक्ष्यों के आधार पर पूरे मामले की जांच कर रही है। अधिकारियों का कहना है कि जांच पूरी होने के बाद आवश्यक कानूनी कार्रवाई सुनिश्चित की जाएगी।

Modinagar: A youth sustained serious injuries in an alleged knife attack near Chaska Hotel in Kadarabad, Modinagar, Ghaziabad, on Thursday night. The injured man, identified as Sunny Dheer, was referred to AIIMS Delhi after his condition became critical. Police have taken the named accused, Ashish Tyagi, into custody and initiated legal proceedings.
How Did the Incident Happen?
According to police and local sources, the incident occurred around 9:30 PM on July 3, 2026, near Chaska Hotel in Kadarabad.
It is alleged that an argument broke out between Sunny Dheer and Ashish Tyagi, which later turned into a physical altercation. After the dispute ended, Sunny Dheer reportedly left the spot on his motorcycle.
Family members allege that Ashish Tyagi later followed him and attacked him with a knife, leaving him critically injured on the roadside.
Old Rivalry Alleged as Motive
According to the victim’s family, Ashish Tyagi used to provide judo and karate training to their children. Around two years ago, a dispute allegedly arose between the two families over the beating of the children, which was later settled.
The family claims that the recent attack was carried out due to that old personal rivalry.
Victim Undergoing Treatment at AIIMS Delhi
Local residents rushed Sunny Dheer to a nearby hospital immediately after the incident. Considering the seriousness of his injuries, doctors referred him to AIIMS Delhi, where he is currently undergoing treatment.
Family members said his condition remains critical.
Police Action
Modinagar ACP Bhaskar Verma stated that an FIR has been registered at Modinagar Police Station. The accused, Ashish Tyagi, has been taken into custody and is being questioned.
Police officials said that CCTV footage, witness statements, and other evidence are being examined as part of the investigation. Further legal action will be taken based on the findings.

Police have confirmed that the investigation is ongoing and all aspects of the alleged attack are being examined before filing further charges.
