मुरादनगर। थाना मुरादनगर पुलिस ने मोबाइल चोरी की घटनाओं का सफल खुलासा करते हुए एक शातिर चोर को गिरफ्तार किया है। पुलिस ने आरोपी के कब्जे से 12 चोरी के मोबाइल फोन और 520 रुपये नकद बरामद किए हैं। आरोपी चोरी किए गए मोबाइल फोन को सस्ते दामों में बेचने की फिराक में था, लेकिन उससे पहले ही पुलिस ने उसे दबोच लिया।
चेकिंग अभियान के दौरान हुई गिरफ्तारी
एसीपी मसूरी अजय कुमार ने बताया कि 2 जुलाई 2026 को थाना मुरादनगर पुलिस नियमित चेकिंग अभियान चला रही थी। इसी दौरान पुलिस टीम ने विनोद पुत्र रनपाल, निवासी ग्राम दोसा बंजारपुर, थाना भोजपुर, जनपद गाजियाबाद (उम्र लगभग 52 वर्ष) को गिरफ्तार किया।
बरामदगी के आधार पर आरोपी के खिलाफ थाना मुरादनगर में धारा 317(2)/317(5) भारतीय न्याय संहिता (BNS) के तहत मुकदमा दर्ज कर विधिक कार्रवाई शुरू कर दी गई है।
कांवड़ियों और राहगीरों को बनाता था निशाना
पूछताछ में आरोपी ने पुलिस को बताया कि वह हाईवे और सड़कों के किनारे सो रहे लोगों तथा राह चलते व्यक्तियों के मोबाइल फोन और नकदी चोरी करता था।
आरोपी ने स्वीकार किया कि उसके कब्जे से बरामद एक एप्पल और एक ओप्पो मोबाइल फोन तथा नकदी कुछ दिन पहले असालतनगर स्थित हनुमान मंदिर के बाहर सो रहे कांवड़ियों से चोरी की गई थी।
इसके अलावा उसके बैग से बरामद अन्य मोबाइल फोन मोदीनगर और आसपास के क्षेत्रों से चोरी किए गए थे। आरोपी इन मोबाइल फोन को सस्ते दामों में बेचने के लिए ग्राहक की तलाश कर रहा था।
आरोपी का आपराधिक इतिहास भी सामने आया
पुलिस जांच में आरोपी का आपराधिक रिकॉर्ड भी सामने आया है। उसके खिलाफ—
- थाना मुरादनगर में चोरी के दो मुकदमे दर्ज हैं।
- जीआरपी मुरादाबाद में आर्म्स एक्ट का एक मुकदमा दर्ज है।
- थाना भोजपुर में मारपीट का एक मुकदमा दर्ज है।
पुलिस आरोपी के अन्य आपराधिक रिकॉर्ड की भी जांच कर रही है।
पुलिस की अपील
मुरादनगर पुलिस ने लोगों से अपील की है कि सार्वजनिक स्थानों, धार्मिक स्थलों और हाईवे पर अपने मोबाइल फोन एवं कीमती सामान की सुरक्षा का विशेष ध्यान रखें। किसी भी संदिग्ध गतिविधि की सूचना तुरंत पुलिस को दें।
Muradnagar Police Arrest Habitual Mobile Thief, Recover 12 Stolen Mobile Phones
Muradnagar, Ghaziabad: Muradnagar Police have solved multiple mobile theft cases by arresting a habitual thief and recovering 12 stolen mobile phones along with ₹520 in cash. The accused was allegedly looking for buyers to sell the stolen devices before being caught by the police.
Arrest During Checking Drive
According to ACP Masuri Ajay Kumar, on July 2, 2026, Muradnagar Police were conducting a routine checking drive when they arrested Vinod, son of Ranpal, a resident of Dosa Banjarpur village under Bhojpur Police Station in Ghaziabad district.
Based on the recovery, a case has been registered under Sections 317(2) and 317(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and further legal proceedings are underway.
Targeted Pilgrims and Pedestrians
During interrogation, the accused confessed that he used to steal mobile phones and cash from people sleeping along highways, roadside travelers, and pedestrians.
He admitted that an Apple iPhone, an OPPO smartphone, and the recovered cash were stolen a few days ago from Kanwar pilgrims sleeping outside Hanuman Temple in Asalat Nagar.
Police also recovered several other stolen mobile phones, which were allegedly stolen from Modinagar and nearby areas. The accused planned to sell the devices at cheap prices but was arrested before completing the deal.
Criminal History
Police records reveal that the accused has a criminal background.
His previous cases include:
- Two theft cases registered at Muradnagar Police Station.
- One Arms Act case registered with GRP Moradabad.
- One assault case registered at Bhojpur Police Station.
Police are also verifying his involvement in other criminal activities.

Muradnagar Police have advised citizens and Kanwar pilgrims to remain vigilant while carrying mobile phones and valuables at public places, highways, and religious locations. Any suspicious activity should be reported to the nearest police station immediately.
