न्यूयॉर्क टाइम्स की रिपोर्ट के मुताबिक, इस समझौते में पाकिस्तान की मध्यस्थता और आखिरी समय में चीन के दखल ने महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाई। पाकिस्तान ने 2 हफ्ते के सीजफायर का प्रस्ताव दिया, जिसे ईरान ने स्वीकार किया।
होर्मुज स्ट्रेट पर जहाजों की सुरक्षित आवाजाही
समझौते के तहत अमेरिका और इजराइल अपने हमले रोकेंगे, वहीं ईरान भी जवाबी कार्रवाई नहीं करेगा। इस दौरान होर्मुज स्ट्रेट से तेल, गैस और अन्य जहाजों की सुरक्षित आवाजाही ईरानी सेना की निगरानी में होगी।

डोनाल्ड ट्रम्प के अनुसार, ईरान ने अमेरिका को 10 पॉइंट का प्रस्ताव भेजा है, जिस पर आगे बातचीत की संभावना है।
