उत्तर प्रदेश के बिजनौर जिले के नगीना क्षेत्र से 15 दिन के नवजात बच्चे की कथित खरीद-फरोख्त का मामला सामने आया है। पुलिस के अनुसार, बच्चे को पहले उसके माता-पिता से ₹2 लाख में लिया गया और बाद में हरिद्वार के एक दंपती को कथित तौर पर ₹5 लाख में दिया गया। मामले में पुलिस ने बच्चे के माता-पिता समेत 6 लोगों को गिरफ्तार किया है। पुलिस ने नवजात को बरामद कर लिया है।
शिकायत के बाद शुरू हुई पुलिस जांच
पुलिस के अनुसार, मामला 28 सितंबर को सामने आया। बच्चे के मामा ताजुद्दीन ने नगीना थाने में शिकायत दर्ज कराई थी। शिकायत में आरोप लगाया गया कि उनकी बहन शबनम और उसके पति फरमान के 15 दिन के बच्चे को अन्य लोगों के माध्यम से दूसरे लोगों को दे दिया गया।
शिकायत मिलने के बाद पुलिस ने मामले की जांच शुरू की और बच्चे की तलाश की गई।
₹2 लाख में लेने और ₹5 लाख में देने का आरोप
पुलिस की शुरुआती जांच के अनुसार, बच्चे को कथित तौर पर शफीकन नाम की दाई की मदद से जितेंद्र कुमार उर्फ विक्की और अन्य लोगों तक पहुंचाया गया। पुलिस का कहना है कि बच्चे को उसके माता-पिता से ₹2 लाख में लिया गया और इसके बाद उसे हरिद्वार निवासी सुलोचना को ₹5 लाख में दिया गया।
पुलिस ने जांच के दौरान बच्चे को बरामद कर लिया। मामले में कथित तौर पर शामिल लोगों से पैसों के लेन-देन और बच्चे को एक व्यक्ति से दूसरे व्यक्ति तक पहुंचाने के संबंध में पूछताछ की जा रही है।
माता-पिता समेत 6 लोगों की गिरफ्तारी
पुलिस के अनुसार, इस मामले में गिरफ्तार किए गए लोगों में:
- शबनम — बच्चे की मां
- फरमान — बच्चे के पिता
- शफीकन — दाई
- जितेंद्र कुमार उर्फ विक्की
- कपिल उर्फ राजवीर
- सुलोचना — हरिद्वार निवासी

परिवार की आर्थिक परेशानी का भी जिक्र
पुलिस की शुरुआती जांच में परिवार की आर्थिक परेशानी को कथित तौर पर बच्चे को दूसरे लोगों को देने से जुड़ा कारण बताया गया है। पुलिस के अनुसार, शबनम और फरमान के पहले से चार बच्चे थे। अगस्त 2025 में जुड़वा बच्चों का जन्म हुआ था, जिनमें एक बेटा और एक बेटी शामिल थे।
पुलिस की जांच के अनुसार, इसके बाद 15 दिन के बेटे को कथित तौर पर पैसे लेकर दूसरे लोगों को दे दिया गया।
पुलिस कर रही है आगे की जांच
पुलिस ने नवजात बच्चे को बरामद कर लिया है और मामले की जांच जारी है। जांच एजेंसियां कथित पैसों के लेन-देन, बच्चे को एक व्यक्ति से दूसरे व्यक्ति तक पहुंचाने और मामले में शामिल अन्य संभावित लोगों की भूमिका की जांच कर रही हैं।

Newborn Baby Allegedly Sold in Bijnor’s Nagina
A case involving the alleged sale of a 15-day-old newborn baby has been reported from the Nagina area of Bijnor district, Uttar Pradesh. According to police, the baby was allegedly taken from his parents for Rs 2 lakh and later given to a couple in Haridwar for Rs 5 lakh.
Police have arrested six people, including the baby’s mother and father, and have recovered the newborn.
Complaint Led to Police Investigation
According to police, the case came to light on September 28, when the baby’s maternal uncle, Tajuddin, filed a complaint at Nagina police station.
The complaint alleged that the 15-day-old child of his sister Shabnam and her husband Farman had been handed over to other people through intermediaries.
Following the complaint, police launched an investigation and began searching for the newborn.
Baby Allegedly Taken for Rs 2 Lakh and Given for Rs 5 Lakh
During the investigation, police allegedly found that the baby was taken to Jitendra Kumar alias Vicky and others with the help of a woman identified as Shafikan, who was described as a midwife.
Police said the baby was allegedly taken from his parents for Rs 2 lakh and later given to Sulochana, a resident of Haridwar, for Rs 5 lakh.
The child was subsequently recovered by police. Investigators are also questioning the accused about the alleged financial transactions and the chain through which the baby was transferred from one person to another.
Six People Arrested
According to police, the six arrested people are:
- Shabnam — the baby’s mother
- Farman — the baby’s father
- Shafikan — a midwife
- Jitendra Kumar alias Vicky
- Kapil alias Rajveer
- Sulochana — a Haridwar resident
Police Looking Into Family’s Financial Situation
The preliminary police investigation has reportedly linked the alleged incident to the family’s financial difficulties. Police said Shabnam and Farman already had four children.
According to the investigation, twins were born to the couple in August 2025, including a boy and a girl. Police allege that the 15-day-old boy was subsequently handed over to other people in exchange for money.
