मोदीनगर (गाजियाबाद): मोदीनगर थाना क्षेत्र के राज चौपला के पास मंगलवार सुबह एक दर्दनाक सड़क हादसे में एक व्यक्ति की मौत हो गई। तेज रफ्तार ट्रक ने सड़क पार कर रहे व्यक्ति को जोरदार टक्कर मार दी, जिससे उनकी मौके पर ही मौत हो गई। हादसे के बाद ट्रक चालक वाहन सहित मौके से फरार हो गया। सूचना मिलने पर पुलिस मौके पर पहुंची और शव को कब्जे में लेकर पोस्टमार्टम के लिए भेज दिया।
मृतक की हुई पहचान
मृतक की पहचान हवलदार सिंह चौहान निवासी सी-111, महेंद्रपुरी, मोदीनगर के रूप में हुई है। परिजनों के अनुसार हवलदार सिंह मंगलवार सुबह करीब 9 बजे रोज की तरह घर से काम पर जाने के लिए निकले थे। घर से निकले लगभग 30 मिनट ही हुए थे कि परिवार को सड़क दुर्घटना की सूचना मिली।
परिजन जब घटनास्थल पर पहुंचे तो हवलदार सिंह की मौत हो चुकी थी। घटना के बाद परिवार में शोक की लहर दौड़ गई और परिजनों का रो-रोकर बुरा हाल है।
हादसे के बाद ट्रक चालक फरार
प्रत्यक्षदर्शियों के अनुसार दुर्घटना के तुरंत बाद ट्रक चालक वाहन लेकर मौके से फरार हो गया। पुलिस आसपास लगे सीसीटीवी कैमरों की फुटेज खंगाल रही है ताकि ट्रक और उसके चालक की पहचान कर जल्द गिरफ्तार किया जा सके।
पुलिस ने क्या कहा?
मोदीनगर के एसीपी भास्कर वर्मा ने बताया कि शव को पोस्टमार्टम के लिए भेज दिया गया है। फरार ट्रक चालक की तलाश की जा रही है और मामले में आवश्यक कानूनी कार्रवाई की जा रही है।
पुलिस ने नागरिकों से अपील की है कि यदि किसी के पास घटना से जुड़ी कोई भी जानकारी या सीसीटीवी फुटेज उपलब्ध हो तो तुरंत पुलिस को सूचित करें।
स्थानीय लोगों में आक्रोश
इस दर्दनाक हादसे के बाद स्थानीय लोगों ने सड़क पर भारी वाहनों की तेज रफ्तार पर चिंता जताई है। लोगों का कहना है कि राज चौपला और आसपास के क्षेत्र में भारी वाहनों की गति पर नियंत्रण और यातायात नियमों का सख्ती से पालन कराया जाना चाहिए ताकि भविष्य में ऐसे हादसों को रोका जा सके।
Man Killed After Speeding Truck Hits Him in Modinagar; Driver Flees, Police Launch Search
Modinagar, Ghaziabad: A tragic road accident claimed the life of a man near Raj Chowpla in the Modinagar police station area on Tuesday morning. According to police, a speeding truck hit the victim, resulting in his death on the spot. The truck driver fled the scene immediately after the accident.
Police reached the location soon after receiving the information, took custody of the body, and sent it for postmortem examination. A search operation has been launched to trace the truck and its driver.
Victim Identified
The deceased has been identified as Havaldar Singh Chauhan, a resident of C-111, Mahendrapuri, Modinagar.
According to family members, he had left his home around 9:00 AM for work as part of his daily routine. About thirty minutes later, the family received information about the road accident. By the time they reached the spot, he had already succumbed to his injuries.
The incident has left the family devastated.
Driver Escapes After Accident
Eyewitnesses stated that the truck driver fled with the vehicle immediately after hitting the victim. Police teams are reviewing CCTV footage from nearby areas to identify the vehicle and arrest the accused driver.
Police Statement
ACP Bhaskar Verma confirmed that the body has been sent for postmortem and that legal proceedings are underway. Police are actively searching for the absconding truck driver.
Authorities have also appealed to the public to share any information or CCTV footage related to the incident that may help in the investigation.

Following the incident, local residents expressed concern over the increasing speed of heavy vehicles in the Raj Chowpla area. They urged the administration to enforce traffic regulations more strictly and take stringent action against the accused driver to prevent similar tragedies.
