मोदीनगर: मोदीनगर थाना क्षेत्र की निवाड़ी रोड चौकी अंतर्गत आदर्श नगर कॉलोनी में शनिवार को दिनदहाड़े महिला से चेन स्नैचिंग की वारदात सामने आई है। घटना का CCTV फुटेज भी सामने आया है, जिसमें बाइक सवार दो युवक महिला के पीछे से आते और उसकी गर्दन पकड़कर सोने की चेन छीनकर फरार होते दिखाई दे रहे हैं।
घटना के बाद आदर्श नगर और आसपास के इलाकों में दहशत का माहौल है। स्थानीय लोगों ने पुलिस से क्षेत्र में गश्त बढ़ाने और संदिग्ध गतिविधियों पर सख्ती से नजर रखने की मांग की है।
पीछे से आए बाइक सवार युवकों ने छीनी चेन
जानकारी के अनुसार, पीड़ित महिला किसी निजी कार्य से आदर्श नगर कॉलोनी आई थी। इसी दौरान वह गली से गुजर रही थी। तभी पीछे से बाइक पर सवार दो युवक आए और अचानक महिला की गर्दन पकड़कर उसके गले में पहनी सोने की चेन झपट ली।
चेन छीनने के बाद दोनों आरोपी बाइक से तेज गति में मौके से फरार हो गए। पूरी वारदात आसपास लगे CCTV कैमरे में कैद हो गई।
CCTV फुटेज सामने आने के बाद पुलिस आरोपियों की पहचान करने में जुटी है। फुटेज में बाइक सवार दोनों युवकों की गतिविधियां स्पष्ट रूप से दिखाई दे रही हैं।
CCTV फुटेज के आधार पर आरोपियों की तलाश
घटना की जानकारी मिलने के बाद पुलिस ने मामले की जांच शुरू कर दी है। पुलिस CCTV फुटेज के अलावा आसपास के अन्य कैमरों की रिकॉर्डिंग भी खंगाल रही है, ताकि आरोपियों के आने और भागने के रास्ते का पता लगाया जा सके।
पुलिस अधिकारियों के अनुसार, CCTV फुटेज के आधार पर आरोपियों की पहचान करने का प्रयास किया जा रहा है। पुलिस का कहना है कि आरोपियों की गिरफ्तारी के लिए आवश्यक कार्रवाई की जा रही है।
इलाके में पहले भी सामने आ चुकी हैं संदिग्ध गतिविधियां
स्थानीय लोगों का कहना है कि आदर्श नगर और आसपास के क्षेत्रों में पिछले कुछ दिनों से चोरी और संदिग्ध गतिविधियों की घटनाएं बढ़ी हैं। इससे लोगों में सुरक्षा को लेकर चिंता बढ़ रही है।
27 जुलाई 2026 की रात एक CCTV फुटेज सामने आई थी, जिसमें एक संदिग्ध व्यक्ति घर-घर टॉर्च मारकर घूमता हुआ दिखाई दिया था। हालांकि उस रात चोरी की कोई घटना सामने नहीं आई थी, लेकिन इस फुटेज के बाद क्षेत्र के लोगों में असुरक्षा की भावना बढ़ गई थी।
बेगमाबाद में भी हुई थी लाखों की चोरी
इसके बाद 30 जुलाई 2026 की रात बेगमाबाद क्षेत्र में ग्रामीण बैंक के ऊपर बने एक मकान में चोरी की घटना सामने आई थी। बताया गया कि चोर घर से लाखों रुपये के आभूषण और करीब 25 हजार रुपये नकद चोरी कर ले गए।
इस मामले में भी अभी तक किसी आरोपी की गिरफ्तारी नहीं होने की जानकारी सामने आई है।
चेन स्नैचिंग की घटना से लोगों में नाराजगी
लगातार सामने आ रही चोरी और लूट की घटनाओं को लेकर क्षेत्रवासियों में नाराजगी है। लोगों का कहना है कि दिनदहाड़े महिला से चेन स्नैचिंग की घटना यह संकेत देती है कि बदमाशों में पुलिस का डर कम हो रहा है।
स्थानीय लोगों ने पुलिस प्रशासन से आदर्श नगर, निवाड़ी रोड और आसपास के क्षेत्रों में नियमित पुलिस गश्त बढ़ाने की मांग की है।
पुलिस ने जल्द खुलासे का दिया भरोसा
पुलिस अधिकारियों का कहना है कि महिला से चेन स्नैचिंग की घटना की जांच की जा रही है। CCTV फुटेज के आधार पर आरोपियों की पहचान करने और उनकी गिरफ्तारी के प्रयास जारी हैं।
पुलिस का कहना है कि जल्द ही मामले का खुलासा करने का प्रयास किया जाएगा।

Two Bike-Borne Men Snatched the Woman’s Chain
According to the information available, the victim had visited Adarsh Nagar Colony for some personal work. While she was walking through a lane, two men riding a motorcycle approached her from behind.
The suspects suddenly grabbed her neck and snatched the gold chain she was wearing. They then fled the area at high speed on their motorcycle.
The entire incident was captured by a CCTV camera installed nearby.
Police Scan CCTV Footage to Identify Suspects
Following the incident, police have started investigating the case. CCTV footage from the location and surrounding areas is being examined to identify the suspects and determine their escape route.

On the night of July 27, 2026, CCTV footage reportedly showed a suspicious person moving around the locality and shining a flashlight toward houses. Although no theft was reported that night, the footage caused concern among residents.
Theft Reported in Begumabad Area
A few days later, on the night of July 30, 2026, a theft was reported at a house located above a rural bank in the Begumabad area.
According to the information available, jewellery worth lakhs of rupees along with approximately ₹25,000 in cash was stolen from the house.
No arrest has been reported in connection with that case so far.
Residents Demand Increased Police Patrolling
The repeated incidents of theft and snatching have led to anger and concern among local residents. People say that a chain-snatching incident in broad daylight indicates that criminals are becoming increasingly fearless.
Residents have demanded increased police patrolling in Adarsh Nagar, Niwari Road and surrounding areas, particularly during vulnerable hours.

Police officials said that the chain-snatching case is being investigated and that CCTV footage is being examined to identify the suspects.
