मोदीनगर। गाजियाबाद के मोदीनगर तहसील परिसर में शुक्रवार को उस समय अफरा-तफरी मच गई, जब भूमि विवाद से परेशान एक किसान ने अपने ऊपर ज्वलनशील पदार्थ डालकर आत्मदाह करने का प्रयास किया। मौके पर मौजूद कर्मचारियों की सूझबूझ और त्वरित कार्रवाई के चलते बड़ा हादसा टल गया।
तीन दिनों से धरने पर बैठा था किसान
जानकारी के अनुसार, निवाड़ी थाना क्षेत्र के पैगा गांव निवासी किसान सत्येंद्र पवार पिछले तीन दिनों से अपनी कृषि भूमि को कब्जा मुक्त कराने की मांग को लेकर उप जिलाधिकारी (एसडीएम) कार्यालय के बाहर धरने पर बैठे हुए थे।
किसान का आरोप है कि उसकी लगभग 700 गज कृषि भूमि का फर्जी तरीके से बैनामा कर दिया गया। इस मामले में उन्होंने 13 लोगों के खिलाफ मुकदमा दर्ज कराया था। पुलिस जांच के बाद सात लोगों को आरोपी मानते हुए उनके खिलाफ चार्जशीट दाखिल कर चुकी है।
तहसीलदार न्यायालय से मिला था फैसला
सत्येंद्र पवार का कहना है कि उन्हें तहसीलदार न्यायालय से अपने पक्ष में फैसला भी मिल चुका है। इसके बावजूद उनकी भूमि को कब्जा मुक्त नहीं कराया गया। उनका आरोप है कि मामले की फाइल को दोबारा खोलकर प्रक्रिया को लंबित कर दिया गया, जिससे उन्हें न्याय नहीं मिल सका।
अधिकारियों से वार्ता के दौरान बढ़ा विवाद
शुक्रवार को उप जिलाधिकारी अजीत सिंह और तहसीलदार रजत सिंह ने किसान को वार्ता के लिए अपने कार्यालय में बुलाया। किसान का आरोप है कि बातचीत के दौरान अधिकारियों ने उन पर धरना समाप्त करने का दबाव बनाया, जिससे वह भावुक और आक्रोशित हो गए।
इसी दौरान उन्होंने अपने ऊपर ज्वलनशील पदार्थ डाल लिया और आग लगाने का प्रयास किया।
कर्मचारियों की सतर्कता से टला बड़ा हादसा
घटना के समय मौजूद कर्मचारियों ने तुरंत हस्तक्षेप करते हुए किसान के हाथ से लाइटर छीन लिया और स्थिति को नियंत्रित कर लिया। कर्मचारियों की सतर्कता के कारण संभावित बड़ा हादसा टल गया और तहसील परिसर में मौजूद लोगों ने राहत की सांस ली।
घटना के बाद कुछ समय के लिए तहसील परिसर में हड़कंप का माहौल रहा। प्रशासन ने मामले को शांत कराते हुए आगे की कार्रवाई शुरू कर दी है।

Modinagar: Panic spread across the Modinagar Tehsil campus on Friday after a farmer allegedly attempted self-immolation while protesting over a long-pending land dispute. The timely intervention of officials and staff prevented a major tragedy.
Farmer Was Protesting for Three Days
According to officials, Satyendra Pawar, a resident of Paiga village under Niwari police station in Ghaziabad district, had been staging a sit-in protest outside the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) office for the past three days.
The farmer alleged that approximately 700 square yards of his agricultural land had been fraudulently transferred through forged sale deeds. He had earlier filed an FIR against 13 individuals. Following the police investigation, chargesheets were filed against seven accused.
Farmer Claims Court Ruled in His Favor
Pawar stated that the Tehsildar Court had already ruled in his favor. However, despite the judgment, his land was not restored, and he alleged that the case file was reopened, delaying the execution of the order.
Heated Discussion with Officials
On Friday, SDM Ajit Singh and Tehsildar Rajat Singh invited the farmer for discussions inside the office.
According to the farmer, officials allegedly pressured him to end his protest. Feeling frustrated, he poured a flammable substance over himself and attempted to set himself on fire.
Staff Act Swiftly to Prevent Tragedy
Employees present at the scene reacted immediately, snatching the lighter from the farmer before he could ignite the fuel. Their prompt action prevented a potentially fatal incident.
The incident created panic inside the tehsil premises for some time before authorities brought the situation under control. Further administrative action is underway.
