Modinagar News: मोदीनगर, 20 अक्टूबर 2026 गाजियाबाद जिले के मोदीनगर क्षेत्र के गांव रोरी स्थित महाराजा सूरजमल अखाड़े में विजयदशमी के अवसर पर पारंपरिक शस्त्र पूजन महोत्सव आयोजित किया गया। इस दौरान मंत्रोच्चार के साथ शस्त्रों की पूजा की गई। शस्त्रों पर रोली से तिलक लगाकर कलावा बांधा गया और फूल-मालाएं अर्पित की गईं। कार्यक्रम में वक्ताओं ने शस्त्र पूजन की परंपरा, आत्मरक्षा, अनुशासन और खेलों के महत्व पर अपने विचार रखे। इसके बाद अखाड़े के खिलाड़ियों ने गतका का प्रदर्शन किया, जिसमें तलवारबाजी और लाठी चलाने के करतब आकर्षण का केंद्र रहे।
शस्त्र पूजन धर्म, सत्य और शोषितों की रक्षा का संकल्प: बाबा परमेन्द्र आर्य
महाराजा सूरजमल अखाड़े के संचालक और श्योराण खाप चौधरी बाबा परमेन्द्र आर्य ने कहा कि शस्त्र पूजा केवल हथियारों की आराधना नहीं है, बल्कि धर्म, सत्य और शोषितों की रक्षा करने का संकल्प भी है। उन्होंने कहा कि प्रत्येक नागरिक को अपनी और अपने परिवार की सुरक्षा करने का अधिकार है।
सेना और पुलिस में भी होती है शस्त्र पूजा: कर्नल सुधीर चौधरी
कर्नल सुधीर चौधरी ने अपने संबोधन में कहा कि विजयदशमी के शुभ अवसर पर सेना और पुलिस के जवान भी शस्त्रों की पूजा करते हैं। उन्होंने शस्त्रों को वीर योद्धाओं का आभूषण बताते हुए कहा कि सैनिक हथियारों को अपने शरीर का अंग समझते हैं। उन्होंने बच्चों को अधिक से अधिक एनसीसी प्रशिक्षण लेने के लिए प्रेरित किया।
गांव के अखाड़े कभी खाप की सेना के प्रशिक्षण केंद्र होते थे
घणघस खाप चौधरी सुखपाल सिंह ने कहा कि प्राचीन काल में गांवों के अखाड़े खाप की सेना के प्रशिक्षण केंद्र हुआ करते थे। समाज पर संकट आने पर खाप चौधरी के नेतृत्व में पहलवान आगे की पंक्ति में खड़े होकर संघर्ष करते थे। उन्होंने बाबा परमेन्द्र आर्य के नेतृत्व में महाराजा सूरजमल अखाड़े में आयोजित गतका प्रतियोगिताओं और कुश्ती दंगल की सराहना की। उन्होंने विजयदशमी पर शस्त्र पूजन को धार्मिक परंपरा बताते हुए खेलों को बढ़ावा देने की आवश्यकता पर भी जोर दिया।
ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों से तैयार होते हैं देश के योद्धा: वरुण सहरावत
सहरावत खाप चौधरी वरुण सहरावत भौकारेड़ी ने कहा कि प्राचीन काल से राजा-महाराजा और योद्धा शस्त्र पूजन करते आए हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों से बड़ी संख्या में योद्धा तैयार होते हैं, जो देश और समाज पर संकट आने पर उनकी रक्षा के लिए आगे आते हैं। उन्होंने खेलों को बढ़ावा देने की अपील करते हुए तलवारबाजी को भी एक खेल बताया और खिलाड़ियों में अनुशासन के महत्व पर जोर दिया।
खिलाड़ियों ने दिखाए तलवारबाजी और गतका के करतब
चौधरी ममता आर्या ने बताया कि विजयदशमी पर योद्धा और किसान अपने शस्त्रों तथा कृषि उपकरणों की सफाई कर उनकी देखभाल करते हैं। कार्यक्रम में वक्ताओं के संबोधन के बाद अखाड़े के खिलाड़ियों ने गतका का प्रदर्शन किया। खिलाड़ियों ने तलवार और लाठी चलाने के करतब दिखाए। लड़कियों द्वारा तलवारबाजी का प्रदर्शन भी आकर्षण का केंद्र रहा।
कार्यक्रम के समापन पर गतका खेलने वाले खिलाड़ियों को मेडल और पुरस्कार देकर प्रोत्साहित किया गया। समाज में विशिष्ट कार्य करने वाले नागरिकों को श्योराण खाप का सम्मान प्रतीक भेंट कर सम्मानित किया गया।

Shastra Pujan Held at Maharaja Surajmal Akhara in Modinagar, Players Showcase Gatka Skills
Modinagar, October 20, 2026: A traditional Shastra Pujan ceremony was organised at Maharaja Surajmal Akhara in Rori village, Modinagar, on the occasion of Vijayadashami. The ceremony was performed with the chanting of mantras, while the weapons were marked with roli, tied with sacred kalava threads and adorned with flower garlands. Speakers highlighted the significance of the traditional ritual, self-defence, discipline and sports. The event also featured a Gatka demonstration by the akhara’s players, with sword-fighting and stick-fighting performances drawing attention.
Shastra Pujan Is a Commitment to Protect Truth and the Oppressed: Baba Parmendra Arya
Baba Parmendra Arya, head of Maharaja Surajmal Akhara and a Chaudhary of the Sheoran Khap, said Shastra Pujan is not merely the worship of weapons but also a commitment to protecting religion, truth and the oppressed. He stated that every citizen has the right to protect themselves and their family.
Army and Police Personnel Also Perform Shastra Pujan: Colonel Sudhir Chaudhary
Colonel Sudhir Chaudhary said that Army and police personnel also worship their weapons on the auspicious occasion of Vijayadashami. Describing weapons as ornaments of brave warriors, he said soldiers consider their weapons an extension of their own bodies. He also encouraged children to receive NCC training.
Village Akharas Once Served as Training Centres for Khap Forces
Sukhpal Singh, Chaudhary of the Ghanghas Khap, said that in ancient times, village akharas served as training centres for khap forces. Whenever society faced a threat, wrestlers would stand on the front line under the leadership of their khap Chaudhary. He praised the Gatka competitions and wrestling events organised at Maharaja Surajmal Akhara under the leadership of Baba Parmendra Arya. He also emphasised the importance of preserving the Vijayadashami tradition of Shastra Pujan and promoting sports.
Rural Areas Play an Important Role in Preparing Warriors: Varun Sehrawat
Varun Sehrawat of Bhoka Reri, Chaudhary of the Sehrawat Khap, said that kings, rulers and warriors have practised Shastra Pujan since ancient times. He noted that rural areas have contributed to preparing warriors who step forward to protect the country and society during difficult times. He called for greater promotion of sports and described sword fighting as a sport, highlighting the importance of discipline among athletes.
Players Showcase Gatka, Sword Fighting and Stick Skills
Chaudhary Mamta Arya said that on Vijayadashami, warriors and farmers traditionally clean and maintain their weapons and agricultural tools. Following the speeches, players from the akhara demonstrated Gatka, showcasing their skills with swords and sticks. The girls’ sword-fighting performance was also a major attraction.
At the conclusion of the programme, Gatka players were encouraged with medals and prizes. Citizens recognised for their notable contributions to society were honoured with tokens of appreciation from the Sheoran Khap.
