ईरान में अमेरिकी विमान पर हुआ मिसाइल हमला
अमेरिकी सेना ने 2 अप्रैल को एक बड़े सर्च एंड रेस्क्यू ऑपरेशन को अंजाम दिया। यह ऑपरेशन उस समय शुरू हुआ जब एक अमेरिकी F-15E फाइटर जेट को ईरान में एक शोल्डर-फायर्ड मिसाइल ने निशाना बनाया।
विमान में दो अधिकारी सवार थे। मिशन के दौरान दोनों ने विमान से इजेक्ट किया। पायलट, जिसे मिशन कॉल साइन Alpha के नाम से बताया गया, सुरक्षित निकल गया और कुछ ही घंटों में उसे रेस्क्यू कर लिया गया।
वहीं दूसरे अधिकारी, जिन्हें सुरक्षा कारणों से Dude 44 Bravo के नाम से पहचाना गया, दुश्मन के इलाके में फंस गए।
पैराशूट नहीं खुलने पर लगा जिंदगी खत्म होने का डर
Bravo ने CBS के 60 Minutes को दिए इंटरव्यू में बताया कि विमान से निकलने के बाद उनका पैराशूट सही तरह से काम नहीं कर रहा था। एक समय जब उन्होंने ऊपर देखा तो उन्हें पैराशूट दिखाई नहीं दिया।
उन्होंने इस पल को अपनी जिंदगी का सबसे डरावना अनुभव बताया। जमीन पर तेज रफ्तार से गिरने के कारण उनकी पीठ, एक हाथ और कंधे में चोट आई।
इसके बावजूद उन्होंने हिम्मत नहीं छोड़ी और सुरक्षित जगह तलाशने की कोशिश शुरू कर दी।
टूटी हड्डियों के बावजूद 7,000 फीट ऊंची चढ़ाई
जमीन पर पहुंचने के बाद Bravo ने महसूस किया कि वह ईरान के दुर्गम पहाड़ी इलाके में हैं। उनके आसपास घाटी और दोनों तरफ ऊंची चट्टानें थीं।
उन्होंने फैसला किया कि नीचे रहने के बजाय ऊपर की ओर जाना ज्यादा सुरक्षित होगा। गंभीर चोटों के बावजूद उन्होंने करीब 7,000 फीट ऊंची रिजलाइन तक चढ़ाई की।
Bravo ने बताया कि सैन्य प्रशिक्षण के दौरान सैनिकों को मुश्किल परिस्थितियों के अनुसार खुद को ढालने और सामने आने वाली चुनौतियों से पार पाने के लिए तैयार किया जाता है। इसी प्रशिक्षण ने उन्हें घायल होने के बावजूद आगे बढ़ने में मदद की।
करीब 50 घंटे तक ईरानी इलाके में छिपे रहे
Bravo लगभग दो दिनों तक ईरानी क्षेत्र में छिपे रहे। अमेरिकी सेना लगातार उनकी तलाश कर रही थी और आखिरकार उन्हें वहां से सुरक्षित निकाल लिया गया।
इस पूरे घटनाक्रम के दौरान उन्हें चोटों, दुर्गम पहाड़ी इलाके और दुश्मन की मौजूदगी के बीच अपनी जान बचानी पड़ी।

US F-15E Fighter Jet Shot Down Over Iran
The US military launched a major search-and-rescue operation on April 2 after an American F-15E fighter jet was hit by an Iranian shoulder-fired missile.
Two officers were aboard the aircraft and both were forced to eject. The pilot, identified by the mission call sign Alpha, was rescued within hours.
However, the weapons systems officer, known as Dude 44 Bravo for security reasons, landed several miles away and became stranded behind enemy lines.
‘Most Terrifying Moment’ After Parachute Problem
Speaking publicly for the first time in an interview with CBS’ 60 Minutes, Bravo described the moment the aircraft went down and recalled how his parachute failed to deploy properly.
He said that at one point he looked up and could not see his parachute. He described the moment as the most terrifying experience of his life.
Bravo hit the ground at high speed and suffered injuries to his back, arm and shoulder.
Despite his injuries, he immediately began looking for a way to move away from the crash site and find a safer location.
Injured Fighter Climbed a 7,000-Foot Ridgeline
After landing, Bravo realised that he was in a rugged mountainous region of Iran. He found himself in a valley surrounded by cliffs.
He decided that moving upward would be safer than remaining in the valley. Despite his broken bones and severe injuries, he began climbing and eventually made his way up a 7,000-foot ridgeline.
Bravo said his military training had prepared him to adapt to difficult circumstances and overcome challenges even when conditions were extremely difficult.
Hid for Nearly 50 Hours Before Rescue
Bravo remained hidden in the Iranian mountains for nearly 50 hours while US forces searched for him.
He had to deal with serious injuries, harsh mountainous terrain and the constant risk of being discovered while waiting for American forces to locate and extract him.
The rescue operation eventually brought him safely back to US forces.
Bravo Calls Survival a ‘Modern-Day Miracle’
During his interview with CBS’ 60 Minutes, Bravo described his survival as a “modern-day miracle.”
