मोदीनगर: मोदीनगर थाना क्षेत्र के गांव सारा के ग्रामीणों ने सारा रोड के चौड़ीकरण की मांग को लेकर शनिवार को बड़ी संख्या में ट्रैक्टर रैली निकाली। तहसील दिवस के अवसर पर करीब 300 से 400 ग्रामीण ट्रैक्टरों के साथ तहसील पहुंचे और सड़क चौड़ीकरण की तिथि जल्द घोषित करने की मांग को लेकर प्रदर्शन किया।
ग्रामीणों ने एसडीएम से मुलाकात कर ज्ञापन सौंपा और कहा कि सारा रोड लंबे समय से संकरा है, जिसके कारण यहां लगातार जाम की समस्या बनी रहती है। ग्रामीणों का कहना है कि सड़क पर ट्रैक्टर-ट्रॉली, गन्ने से भरे वाहन और अन्य भारी वाहनों की आवाजाही के कारण लोगों को रोजाना परेशानी का सामना करना पड़ता है।
सारा रोड पर जाम से परेशान ग्रामीण
ग्रामीणों के अनुसार, सारा रोड क्षेत्र के लिए एक महत्वपूर्ण मार्ग है, लेकिन सड़क की चौड़ाई कम होने के कारण आम लोगों को आवागमन में परेशानी होती है। भारी वाहनों के आमने-सामने आने पर सड़क पर जाम की स्थिति बन जाती है। कई बार इसी वजह से वाहन चालकों और स्थानीय लोगों के बीच विवाद की स्थिति भी पैदा हो जाती है।
ग्रामीणों ने बताया कि अगले महीने शुगर मिल का संचालन शुरू होने वाला है। इसके बाद गन्ने से भरी ट्रैक्टर-ट्रॉलियों और अन्य वाहनों की संख्या बढ़ने की संभावना है। ऐसे में यदि सड़क का चौड़ीकरण नहीं किया गया तो जाम की समस्या और गंभीर हो सकती है।
कई वर्षों से चल रही है सड़क चौड़ीकरण की मांग
ग्रामीणों का कहना है कि वे पिछले कई वर्षों से सारा रोड चौड़ीकरण की मांग कर रहे हैं। हाल ही में नगर पालिका परिषद की ओर से सड़क चौड़ीकरण की प्रक्रिया शुरू करते हुए कई मकानों पर लाल निशान लगाए गए थे।
नगर पालिका के आरआई अंकित कुमार ने उस समय बताया था कि संबंधित मकान मालिकों को एक सप्ताह का समय दिया गया है। इस दौरान उन्हें स्वयं अतिक्रमण हटाकर मकान के प्रभावित हिस्से को हटाने के लिए कहा गया था। निर्धारित समय में कार्रवाई नहीं होने पर नगर पालिका प्रशासन की ओर से कार्रवाई किए जाने की बात कही गई थी।
300 से 400 ग्रामीण ट्रैक्टरों के साथ पहुंचे तहसील
शनिवार को गांव सारा से शुरू हुई ट्रैक्टर रैली में बड़ी संख्या में किसान, ग्रामीण और स्थानीय लोग शामिल हुए। ट्रैक्टर रैली तहसील परिसर पहुंची, जहां ग्रामीणों ने सड़क चौड़ीकरण को लेकर अपनी मांगें प्रशासन के सामने रखीं।
ग्रामीणों की सबसे प्रमुख मांग थी कि प्रशासन सारा रोड चौड़ीकरण कार्य शुरू होने की निश्चित तिथि घोषित करे। उनका कहना है कि स्पष्ट तिथि मिलने से क्षेत्र के लोगों को वर्षों पुरानी समस्या के समाधान की उम्मीद जगेगी।
सड़क चौड़ीकरण शुरू नहीं हुआ तो आंदोलन की चेतावनी
ग्रामीणों ने प्रशासन को चेतावनी दी कि यदि जल्द ही सड़क चौड़ीकरण की प्रक्रिया शुरू नहीं की गई और कार्य की तिथि घोषित नहीं हुई तो आंदोलन को और तेज किया जाएगा।
फिलहाल प्रशासन की ओर से ग्रामीणों को उनकी मांगों पर विचार करने और आवश्यक कार्रवाई का आश्वासन दिया गया है। अब ग्रामीणों की नजर प्रशासन की अगली कार्रवाई और सारा रोड चौड़ीकरण की निर्धारित तिथि पर है।
Villagers Hold Tractor Rally Demanding Widening of Sara Road in Modinagar
Modinagar: A large number of villagers from Sara village in Modinagar held a tractor rally on Saturday demanding the widening of Sara Road. Around 300 to 400 villagers reached the tehsil premises on tractors during Tehsil Diwas and met the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) to demand that a date for the road widening work be announced soon.
The villagers submitted a memorandum to the SDM and highlighted the problems caused by the narrow road. According to them, traffic congestion has become a regular issue on Sara Road in Modinagar, particularly due to the movement of tractors, sugarcane-loaded vehicles and other heavy vehicles.
Traffic Jams on Sara Road Concern Villagers
Villagers said Sara Road is an important route in the area, but its narrow width frequently leads to traffic jams. The movement of tractors, trolley vehicles carrying sugarcane and other heavy vehicles creates difficulties for commuters.
They also said that vehicles often struggle to pass each other on the narrow stretch, resulting in traffic disruptions and occasional disputes among drivers and local residents.
The villagers are particularly concerned because the sugar mill is expected to start operations next month. With the start of the sugarcane crushing season, the movement of sugarcane-loaded tractor-trolleys is expected to increase significantly, which could worsen the traffic situation on Sara Road.
Villagers Have Been Demanding Road Widening for Years
According to the villagers, they have been demanding the widening of Sara Road for several years. Recently, the Municipal Council had marked several houses with red markings as part of the road widening process.
At that time, Municipal Council RI Ankit Kumar said the concerned property owners had been given one week to voluntarily remove encroachments and the portions of their houses affected by the proposed road widening. The administration had indicated that action would be taken if the encroachments were not removed within the given time.
300-400 Villagers Join Tractor Rally
The tractor rally started from Sara village and proceeded towards the tehsil premises. A large number of farmers, villagers and local residents participated in the protest.
After reaching the tehsil, the villagers met the SDM and submitted their memorandum. Their main demand was that the administration announce a fixed date for starting the Sara Road widening project.
The villagers said that a clear timeline from the administration would help address the long-standing traffic and connectivity problems faced by residents.
Villagers Warn of Intensified Protest
The villagers warned that if the road widening process is not started soon and a clear date is not announced, they will intensify their protest.
The administration has assured the villagers that their demands will be considered and necessary action will be taken. Residents are now waiting for an official announcement regarding the Sara Road widening project in Modinagar.
